Jackson Generals Baseball
AA Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks

The Generals were established as a minor-league baseball franchise in 1998, moving from Memphis, TN to Jackson, TN. The original franchise was known as the Memphis Chicks, who stayed in Memphis as an AA affiliate of Montreal Expos, Kansas City Royals, San Diego Padres, and Seattle Mariners from 1978 to 1997. When the franchise first arrived in Jackson, the Chicks became the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx as well as became the AA affiliate for the Chicago Cubs.

During the eight years in their affiliation with the Cubs, the Diamond Jaxx won three division championships (1999, 2000, 2005) and one Southern League Championship in 2000.

In 2007, the Diamond Jaxx ended their affiliation with the Cubs, and began a second affiliation with the Mariners as a franchise. In 2010 after the Southern League playoffs ended, the Diamond Jaxx announced that they would officially change the franchise name to the Jackson Generals, in homage to the original Jackson Generals minor league team that was based in Jackson during the early 20th century. In 2012, the Generals won the North Division Championship before falling 3-1 in the Southern League Championship against Mobile.  In 2016, the Generals went on to win the Southern League Championship.  Shortly after the 2016 Southern League Championship win the Generals switched affiliations over to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2017.

Since the franchise's relocation to Jackson in 1998, many notable major leaguers have played for the Diamond Jaxx/Generals organization including but not limited to: Dustin Ackley, Kyle Farnsworth, Nomar Garciaparra, Angel Guzman, Eric Hinske, Carlos Marmol, Corey Patterson, Michael Pineda, Mark Pryor, Kyle Seager, Sammy Sosa, Geovany Soto, Ryan Theriot, and Carlos Zambrano.
